Documenting everything you might want to do, even if the budget isn’t there yet, can be helpful for finding efficiencies and thinking across different scales.

Seeing the big picture can help clarify your thinking about a project of any scale, and helps in making accommodations for future projects when the opportunity arises. For example, if you have to open the floor up for a kitchen renovation, but know you’ll later add a new bathroom nearby, take advantage of the kitchen reno to lay piping for future waste lines from the new bathroom.
